SANSKRIT

Swami Vivekananda says “Its (India’s) religion, its philosophy, its history, its ethics, its politics were all inlaid in a flower-bed of poetic imagery — the miracle of language which was called Sanskrit or "perfected", lending itself to expressing and manipulating them better than any other tongue”

“Even more it (India) has done in mathematics, for algebra, geometry, astronomy, and the triumph of modern science — mixed mathematics — were all invented in India, just so much as the ten numerals, the very cornerstone of all present civilization, were discovered in India, and are in reality, Sanskrit words”

Such statements coming out from a personage like Swami Vivekananda, stress the importance of Sanskrit learning, as a guiding-light to wisdom Indian, secular or spiritual.

“I am proud to tell you that I belong to a religion in whose sacred language, the Sanskrit, the word exclusion is untranslatable” says Swamiji while speaking of the all-inclusive nature of Sanskrit. This means that study of this language helps national integration.

Since, self-awareness boosts everything auspicious in us, Swamiji says, “Sanskrit and prestige go together in India”. Once Swami Vivekananda said that study of Vedas end superstitions. Superstitions are a greatest hindrance to our development. So, if we wish to grow, we need to assimilate the spirit of Vedas, for studying which Sanskrit knowledge is inevitable.

The Sanskrit Language course we offer at our Institute, briefly introduces Sanskrit literature, grammar and philosophy to its students. Communication in Sanskrit also is stressed especially.
